The Pricing page allows you to view all available MinuteMail plans, compare features, and upgrade or downgrade your subscription. This guide explains each plan tier and how to make changes.

Plan upgrades and downgrades are confirmed on the plan-change page in the app (https://minutemail.co/app/plan-change).

MinuteMail offers four subscription tiers designed for different usage levels:

Perfect for testing and personal use:

  • ✓ 50 API calls per day
  • ✓ 2 active mailboxes
  • ✓ 3 archived mailboxes retained

Limitations:

  • No custom domains
  • No team collaboration

Best For: Individual users, testing, light personal use

$9/month or $86/year

For regular users with moderate needs:

  • ✓ 1,000 API calls per day
  • ✓ 10 active mailboxes
  • ✓ 20 archived mailboxes retained

Compared to Free:

  • 10× more API calls
  • 3× more active mailboxes
  • 4× more archive slots
  • Unlimited reactivation period

Best For: Developers, freelancers, small projects

$29/month or $278/year (Most Popular)

Professional-grade features for power users:

Your active plan displays a badge:

  • Current Plan - Green badge on your active tier
  • Downgrade - Button on higher-tier plans (changes to lower tier)
  • Upgrade - Button on lower-tier plans (changes to higher tier)

To upgrade your subscription, visit the MinuteMail pricing page.

  1. Navigate to Pricing page
  2. Find the plan you want
  3. Click the Upgrade button
  4. Choose billing interval (Monthly or Yearly)
  5. Complete payment if required
  6. Upgrade takes effect immediately
  • Access - Immediately gain new plan limits
  • Billing - Prorated charge for remaining billing period
  • Data - All existing mailboxes and data preserved
  • Quotas - Higher limits available instantly

Upgrading from Free → Hobbyist:

  • ✓ API calls increase from 50 → 1,000/day
  • ✓ Active mailboxes from 2 → 10
  • ✓ Can reactivate archived mailboxes anytime

Upgrading to Pro:

  • ✓ Unlock custom domain feature
  • ✓ Create up to 50 active mailboxes
  • ✓ 10,000 API calls per day

Upgrading to Team:

  • ✓ Invite up to 5 team members
  • ✓ Shared pool of 50,000 API calls/day
  • ✓ 200 active mailboxes across team
  1. Navigate to Pricing page
  2. Click Downgrade on your current plan
  3. Select the lower-tier plan
  4. Confirm the change
  5. Downgrade takes effect immediately
  • Access - Switches to the lower plan’s limits
  • Billing - Handled via Stripe according to your billing interval
  • Resource Limits - The plan-change page validates your usage first; if you exceed the target plan’s limits, the downgrade is blocked and the conditions are listed for you to fix

If you exceed the new plan’s limits, you must reduce usage first:

Example: Team → Pro Downgrade

  • Remove team members (keep only yourself)
  • Delete mailboxes until under 50 active
  • Remove custom domains until under 5
  • Ensure archived mailboxes within 200 archive slots

You cannot confirm the downgrade until all resources are within the new plan’s limits.

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with a prorated charge; downgrades are validated against the target plan’s limits and applied once your usage fits within them.

What happens if I exceed my API call limit?

Section titled “What happens if I exceed my API call limit?”

API calls are blocked after reaching the daily limit. The limit resets at 00:00 UTC daily. Consider upgrading for higher limits.

Yes! Yearly billing saves 20% compared to monthly. Toggle the pricing to see annual rates.

What happens to my custom domains if I downgrade?

Custom domains are only available on Pro and Team plans. If you downgrade to Free or Hobbyist, you must first remove your custom domains - the plan-change flow lists this as a blocking condition. Export any data you need before removing them.

To change from monthly to yearly (or vice versa):

  1. Cancel current subscription in Billing
  2. Wait for current period to end
  3. Resubscribe with new interval on Pricing page

Or contact support for immediate interval changes.

  • Monthly Plans - Prorated refunds for unused time
  • Yearly Plans - Partial refunds based on unused months
  • Cancellation - No refund if you cancel but continue using until period ends

Contact support for refund requests.

You’ll receive email notifications for:

  • Plan upgrade confirmations
  • Payment receipts
  • Plan change completions

After selecting a plan:

  1. Upgrade immediately - Click upgrade button, enter payment
  2. Explore features - Test new limits and capabilities
  3. Configure resources - Add custom domains, create mailboxes
  4. Invite team - Add members (Team plan only)
  5. Monitor usage - Check Usage page regularly
